I currently have a budget set-up consisting of a Sanyo PLV-Z700 projector, Sony '360 blu ray, Humax Freesat HD, Yamaha '763 amp, Monitor Audio Radius 90s 5.1. I have hooked it all up using freebie speaker cable, 2 x Vivanco 2m hdmi's (to the amp) and a 10m hdmi from the amp to the projector (which I got off ebay for £15, as it said it was 1080p compatible). My projector says it is receiving a 1080p signal, and while the images look good, has anyone got any recommendations for improving picture quality or sound quality, as I feel I am just lacking that extra sparkle.

I can get away with a 8m hdmi from the amp to the projector.

Hope that makes sense. Adam.

Without it being clear what needs improving a such I'd maybe:-

- Try improving the picture by altering settings based on a callibration disc of some sort

- Put in some 14 gauge oxygen free speaker cable

- Try running an audio sweep from the THX DVD setup, (like on POTC 1), and make sure it's same volume for all frequencies

- Maybe experiment with where the subwoofer is

- Look at a projector screen if you aren't using one
