Alternative to B&W MM-1

As per the title I was wondering if anyone has an alterntive to the B&W MM-1s. I've been reading some user reviews on other sites and there seems to be a few people having problems with them running hot. Ill be using them in a very hot environment so that would pose a real problem to me.

The speakers will need to be compact and sound the bees knees for a similiar (ish) budget.

Best I've heard are B&O, and much better than the B&Ws, but they're double the price. Genelec are a good alternative at about the same price, but they're not as sophisticated as the B&W offerings.
