Am thinking of getting a new "all in one" home cinema setup when i get my new tele. Obviously the main things are for it to sound ok and do upscaling, dosent have to be top end sound as i ony have an old Pioneer DCS313 all in one kit at moment. I want to spend a max of £400. Have seen the Sony DAVIS10 for a similar amount online.

However what i really want is for the rear speakers to be wireless. I know they have to plug into the mains but thats easy to sort in my room as there are sockets where the rears would go (if they were the tall type). What i dont really want is speaker cables all over the room.

What options do i have? I assume i cant get into seperates at this type of budget?

Thanks

Not really, and you'll be lucky to find anything reasonable which is wireless at this price I'm afraid. The trouble is, it's a lot like the reviews you see for cheap wireless headphones - all your money is going into making the sound travel wirelessly from the amp to the speaker, thus very little is spent actually making this sound any good. Have you looked at decent thin speaker cable, like the QED Micro / QED Silver Micro? It's very thin and discreet. There's also cable which is specifically designed to go under your carpet.

Sony will be launching the DAVIS50 in September for £650 which is just like the DAVIS10 but with wireless rear speakers.
Hope this helps.
