Hi all,
I'm having a bit of trouble trying to find out the best route on a max budget of £2500, for a system that will wirelessly stream music (FLAC compatible), include a good DAC and amplifier. I have looked at the obvious one box systems, ie Naim Uniti and Linn Majik DS-I, but was wondering if something like a CA 840C & 840A combo with a squeezebox might not fit the bill in terms of sound quality, it will certainly fit the budget at around £1400.
For me sound quality is paramount and I'm not one for buying into an expensive brand for the sake of it, so if I'm going to drop two and a half big ones on a system, it will need to sound the biz. So I guess the question is really, would the Cambridge system (or something similar) be an equal in terms of sound quality?
Given the range of kit I have been looking at, it is impossible to do any sort of direct comparisons and reading reviews without context is getting tedious in trying to read between the lines and weed out hype and bias, so I'm relying heavily on first hand experience of others.
Many thanks in advance folks.
