Santa brought some of these for me. I've got to say I'm very impressed straight out of the box!

Currently on 24 hour burn in.

Looks like we've all been good boys and girls this year ... Santa drooped some AKG450s off for me too. Still in box as of today. Too full from Christmas dinner to plug them in.

Get them plugged in, Doctor Who is over and it's now the missus' time - Strictly and Downton. Hence I'm on the PC playing World of Tanks and listening to Sigur Ros!

So much better after being run in! Most of the listening has been on spotify.

Really really happy with them, although they seem fussy to ear placement. Not sure if it's my ears or the small cups.

What Benefit would I get with a headphone amp over my cd6003 and iPad2?

Pleased you've warmed to them. The placement for you must be the small cups. I'm using them only for portable use (iPod Classic) as I have Senn HD202s (cracking for £20 odd and beat my HD380 Pros for SQ).

Do you mean directly into the headphone socket into the CD 6003?

What about a FiiO E10?

These are the only headphones I have so using them for home and portable.

Yes i am using them direct into the cd player.

The only potential problem with the FiiO is I can't demo them.

So you use Senns at home and the AKG on the move?

That's right Matt. The FiiO is on my PC and I use it for iTunes and Spotify with the Senns.

It (to me) is a vast improvement on the soundcard, which is fairly decent.

You could always find a dealer who is sympathetic or just simply try and send back?
