Airport express problems

Hello

I have configured the above and have connected to my av amp via 3.5 jack to rca,but cannot get sound.

I am able to control itunes with my iphone on my mac so that works ok

itunes is showing airport at the bottom of the page.

everything looks ok except no sound

1. have you tried a different RCA input - to eliminate that risk?
2. is the "volume" on the AE set to "let the amp control"?
3. have you checked that nothing is muted?
4. if possible can you plug the AE into another amplifier / stereo / (even television RCA in) to test?

have put rca into tv still no sound

nothing muted

have tried dig to toslink no sound

how do you check volume assign on AE

a friend had this issue on a laptop. enabling digital out turned off the analogue sound. as he was also using a 3.5mmm to rca cable, he got no sound either. he turned off the digital output and hey presto - everything fine.

don't know if this also applies to an AE

Have got this working now but only by digging out my Arcam 8 amp (which will be sold on ebay soon) so maybe the problem lies with my av amp.
