First of all, let me just say I’m new to this forum and after many years away from HiFi I’m slowly getting back into it via the investment in a half descent home cinema system. In my personal opinion my current AV-amp and speakers is good enough to justify a dedicated CD spinner and I would therefore love to have some advise regarding which CD player I should go for.
The audio part of my system contains of:
AV amplifier: Sony STR-DA5200ES
Front & centre speakers: B&W FPM4 flat panel monitors
Rear speakers: B&W FPM2 flat panel monitors
Subwoofer: B&W PV1
I have been considering the Marantz SA7001 or the SA7001KI, but as I haven’t listened to the KI version personally I’m far from sure its worth the £200 price increase. I have also thought about the Rega Apollo, but unfortunately I don’t think I will be able to implement a top-loading player into my system.
Any advice to which CD players I should consider would be greatly appreciated. My budget is around the £600 mark.
Thanks in advance
