Aerial cable?

Hi

Our electrician has installed a new high gain TV aerial very high up on the chimney. He also plugged the TV into the socket to get it going.

He says it's connected to the wall socket with a double shielded satellite coax. It looks quite chunky to me unlike the freebie ones you get.

Is it still worth investing in upgraded aerial lead ?

Thanks

Originally I wasn't happy with the signal using a freebie one. Upgraded to Russ Andrews PV1. Massive difference, never looked back.

Saying that yours sounds OK. At the price though you could always experiment with RA/QED e.t.c cables and if no difference send it back!

The key question surely is is the TV picture good? (I assume you are on Freeview?) If yes then leave well alone in my advice. Spending more money is unlikely to get you a better picture.

BTW to get the best picture you need to look at the whole recieving system - that includes the aerial, the coax from the aerial to your wall socket, the socket itself and the flying lead from the wall socket to the TV. As with all things in life this system will only be as good as it's weakest link and TBH spending a fortune on the last metre of cable in the system is a total waste of money IMHO.

He has another recent thread which holds the answer to this question.ÿ
