Advice on a separates system

We've just bought a 3D HD TV (40" Samsung UE40C7000) and a Humax Fox T2 HD recorder. I have set up a PS3 with them to play Bluray discs. I would like to set up a Home Theatre System using some of the separates I already have if possible. Sadly, I think my lovely Denon AVC-A10SE amp will need to find another use as it lacks the HDMI capacity. I also have some legacy equipment - a turntable, so will need a phono stage in a new amp, and would like to be able to connect a VCR (Panasonic S-VHS) as well as my Sony cassette deck. Is the Ps3 good enough to use instead of a dedicated Bluray / DVD player?

I have a Sony 5.1 speaker system which is reasonable in our small lounge and I have a matching sub for it, but am not averse to a new speaker system if necessary. I've got a bit left behind with new technologies in Hifi / Audio/ TV but have a number of good separates, like the Denon, and a good turntable, VCR, and tape deck, plus the PS3, so would like to be able to combine these if possible with a new amp - I'm not sure exactly what I need or how much my budget should realistically be, so any advice would be gratefully received.

The speakers are:

Sony SSTS 551 - there are 3 of them

Sony SSCT 551 - 1 centre unit
