Advice on a ps3 and a samsung LE46F86BD

Hi,

just got a new samsung that said in the specs it takes a 1080p signal at 50/60/24 . even went to john lewis and got them to rig up a ps3 to the one they have on show to see it working .

why is it when i put the settings on the ps3 to 1080p output it go's back to 1080i .???

the one in the shop worked fine ?,

really not sure what i am doing wrong here , but if any one has this set up and could offer a bit of advice on how it all works .

I'm thinking that i could have a bad hdmi cable ?

or my ps3 has a fault ?

Hi Simon,

Is the game you're playing a 1080i one, perhaps? Not all PS3 games are 1080p...

Hi Clare,

the games are fine , its the output to the t.v when upscaling video to 1080p.

thanks for the reply but i have found the problem . it was the hdmi cabe , just popped out and got a new one and now it works fine .

p.s don't buy a hdmi cable from blockbusters !!!
