Hi, I found a Panasonic Sb-wa880 subwoofer unit (someone was chucking it out) and promptly took it back home. My amp, a yamaha crx 550 has a single hole in the back of the unit for a subwoofer, one that a 'banana' plug fits into. The back of the subwoofer takes a power lead, a special connection to the associated home theatre unit (I have both, but I'm sure the lead is broken.) and the little bare wire things you get in some units (small hole with a switch to flick up/down to allow the wire in)

So, assuming the unit does work (subwoofer seems to power on, although I read the amp in it only works when it is connected to the associated home theatre unit) can I use it on my CRX 550, and, if you don't mind, what kind of lead do I ask for in maplin? (sorry, not very knowledgeble in this department)

thank you

If you could post some pics of the cables, connection on the back of your crx550 and the connections on the sub, we might be able to help.

Cheers
Matt
