Could anyone confirm whether or not this is a UK Model, and if so, is there an equivalent EU model-that performs as well?

Yes, it's definitely a UK model - not sure about an equivalent on the mainland market, though. They tend to get receivers rather than the amp versions we have here.

If one could not feasbily get hold of this model, what would you reccommend as the next best alternative, the Onkyo (in a similar class) or the Denon? or ??

I'd probably go for the Onkyo 606 or the Sony STR-DA2400ES.
