A reasonable question?

Hello people of what hi-fi forums,

I just want to ask a question about a certain pre amp and power amp. The question, ...can you put together the roksan kandy L.III power amp together with the Naim nac 122x intergrated amp? playing the Naim cd5i cd player? Just wondering if you can do this, simply because it is a reasonably good price setup if you can.

The NAC122x is a preamp, not an integrated, and needs an external power supply. It can take power from a Naim power amp but, if used with a non-Naim power amp, will need to be used with one of Naim's power supplies.

But all that taken on board, yes the two will work together.

Andrew (as always) is correct, but I'm wondering if the extra cost of a Naim power supply will outweigh the advantage of using the Roksan power amp, especially when the FlatCap is two thirds of the cost of a NAP150x (which can power the NAC122x)....
