A question of ohms

I have pre-ordered a Sony DTR-DH800 receiver, which I believe is 8ohms, my present set of speakers which were part of the Sony HT-DDW750 home cinema system are 8 ohms, but the sub is 6 ohms. Can I still use this sub, or will I need a new one?

Yes, the receiver in the system is a Sony STR-DE495P, which has a rca out for the sub, and the sub is plugged into a different wall socket than the receiver.
