A few inches can make all the difference

Put plainly, I'm constantly faffing around with my setup. Little tweaks with speaker positioning seem to garner some amazing results. From one listening session to the next, I will try different things, moving speakers in all directions. It is so surprising how much difference a few inches of movement can make to the whole musical presentation.

if you don't have your speakers right in that "sweet spot" it could cause a lot of misunderstanding. Possibly blaming other components when all it takes is some experimentation, moving speakers little by little.

after every experiment, mine always seem to find their way back to the sweet spot. But literally 2 inches can make all the difference.

I encourage everyone to experiment in positioning their speakers. This could potentially save you a lot of money box swapping.

You're so right though. I faffed around for ages getting my speakers set up. I did find a decent sweet spot. There did have to be a small compromise though, as the optimum position meant the right speaker blocked a doorway...

We now abseil out of the bathroom to get into the garden.

Yep 1 or 2 inches will do it. I was amazed but it works.
