I have an Audiolab 8000S from that era - part of the 8000 series family - and still sounds great today. Recently sidelined the 8000S though, with a new Audiolab 6000A with digital in/outs . . . and I can report it's just as good - great in-depth sound quality when streaming 24bit/96kHz tracks from Amazon Music HD and Tidal.
