This is due to a lack of dedicated native content; there seems to be very little appetite for 8K Blu-ray, and network bandwidth restrictions remain a roadblock for 8K streaming.

You've missed the point that 8K TVs are also way beyond the kind of money, most people might be prepared to pay for a TV.
