Hello,
My beloved old Luxman R-1040 is starting to give in. I love how warm and powerful it sounds (and looks!), though, so I’ll probably stick with a 70’s receiver. Anyone know of any other models that can give me a similar sound? I use a pair of Monitor Audio Silver RX1 and mostly listen to lossless music from my computer through a DAC Magic (stuff like Beatles, Nick Drake, Arcade Fire, etc).
Current options at a local vintage store are the following: Yamaha CR-600, Nad 120, Pioneer SX-737, Sansui 770, a Technics SA-5460, and also a (to me pretty unknown) Fisher RS1022.
Also, if you think I’m crazy for liking 70’s receivers and want to point me to modern amplifiers with similar sound qualities as the Luxman, please do!![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
