Hello, we have recently bought a ARCAM pre-amp and power amp. We only have 5.1 (due to the size of the room). I was wondering if i could use the spare 2 channels (Left&right rear surround), and feed the front left and right sound into them, to bi-amp the front speakers.

I'm assuming that each channel has its own "amplifier" circuit so i could effectively have a amp for the treble and bass. I assume that this will increase sound quality.

Thanks,

Matthew

You certainly can.....

You just need to run interconnects from the Front L+R audio/line outputs on the power amp to the surround/rear L+R audio/line inputs on the power amp.

Then run a pair of speaker cables from the Front L+R speaker binding posts of the power amp to the HF posts on the speakers and another set of cables from the surround/rear L+R binding posts to the LF posts on the speakers(or vice versa).

Most importantly, remember to remove the links/jumpers that connect the HF and LF together on the speakers when single wired/amped.
