48 bit blu-ray

Got a Pioneer BDP-LX52 running through VSX-LX1019 to a KRP500 screen and i'm only getting 36 bit bluray picture, should i be able to view 48bit?

The fact it displays 36 bit suggests to me somethings set wrong (As in youve converted it) as blurays are recorded in 24 bit. 36 and 48 are 'deep colour' which blurays dont yet support
