I have a PS3. Onkyo 606 and Pioneer 4280. No issues at all.

I have my PS3 set to output at 720p. The Kuro can't display above that resolution anyway. I have to say that I would have thought that the Kuro would have made a pretty good job of downscaling the picture. So I'm a bit stumped.

Hhhmmm? HDMI cable?

For a start, don't use Drive Mode 3 (It's not really intended for home use - don't ask me why as it gets complex). Leave it on Drive Mode 1 or 2 (I prefer 1 but it makes very little difference). On the PS3, keep output set to 1080p and make sure BD 1080p 24hz Output is set to automatic. That should sort it.

thanks for the replies guys but an email from pioneer stated that drive mode 3 sets the plasma into 72 hrz and advance in the pure cinema does the 3-3 pull down so the settings are correct on the screen the ps3 is set to 1080 and 24hrz have either of you got 300 and could do a test on the scenes also judders a lot in cars

Well it's up to you whether you want to follow my advice. I'm pretty sure Drive mode 3 only takes effect when you have a 1080p24hz being fed to the tv at 1080i. I've double-checked my own settings and I've got Drive Mode set to 1 and Pure Cinema OFF (Pure cinema shouldn't really make a difference with a progressive signal). I've got absolutely no problems with Blu-Ray. I've got Cars - no problems there. I'm pretty sure I've got the same settings for my HD-DVD player and haven't noticed any problems there either - just watched 300 again recently. You'll never know until you give it a go.

I'll try and check it tonight. I've watched it a few times before and never noticed anything. Please do try it with the settings I've suggested too and report back.

What's your PS3 output resolution set to? Try Drive mode 2 with Pure cinema set to advance. Are you going straight into the back of the tv or via an amp?

Well I'm stumped to be honest. I will have a look tonight and try and get back to you.

My main resource any time I'm having problems has always been the 'Pioneer 8G Owners Thread' over at the A-V-Forums. In the first post there are the recommended settings for a variety of sources which have always served me well. Definitely worth a look if you haven't already.

Can you please use punctuation, your posts are very hard to read.

Right now I know exactly what you're talking about and it explains the confusion. It's called film judder and is inherent in all film sources recorded at 24fps. It's inherent in the source and is nothing to do with the tv ie. it's not pulldown judder. The tv is displaying the signal correctly. The only way around that is to buy a tv with frame interpolation technology but that will make all your movies look like amateur video (pet hate of mine when it come to HDTVs). Film judder is even visible when watching a film in the cinema but we've become accustomed to it.
