4/8Ohms to 6Ohms?

Hi,

Just bought a new amp to go with some 6Ohm speakers. The amp has a switch that lets me output at 4Ohms or 8Ohms, and a bit of research suggests I should use 4Ohms.

What is your take on this?

What amp is it? most amps will automatically drive speakers of different loads nowadays, the impedance is not actually a constant when the speaker is being driven.

My Onkyo 875 also has to be configured for speaker impedance, so it is not that unusual. The possibilities are 4ohms (below 6 ohms) or 6 ohms (6-16)
