Max, I agree with you. No matter what the reasons might be (and yes, to gain the edge over competitors for sure is a possibility) I still think it is a nice initiative.

I have no intention of getting 3D gear at this point, but if I was, I for sure would appreciate the possibility to keep the receiver.
