Saw that over a year ago posted on another forum - looks pretty amazing. I'm sure Nintendo have been working on the next step in interactive gaming since Wii's inception 5 years ago, and no doubt they've been working on 3D gaming for a few years now. I think Nintendo will be first out with real 3D gaming because there's less demand on the formats with a standard definition source. With the Wii being 480/576 lines, they could produce a console that will produce a 3D signal to pass through any HDMI equipped AV amp - 3D can be passed at 1080i down normal 1.3 HDMI cables if I' read correctly, so should be really easy for the Wii. Of course, this video shows a far simpler way of producing 3D without even the need for HDMI.

No need for glasses either......

That has got to be the unique selling point. I'd buy a Wii if they managed 3D games without those silly glasses.

When I first saw that video, I was stunned - even on a rubbish youtube video you could blatantly see the 3D effect. And this was before 3D TV was being properly talked about.

If Nintendo hadn't previously thought of what he'd done, I bet they started working on it as soon as they saw that video

Imagine a game where those lines coming out of the screen were fists or bullets or something. You would instinctively be ducking and diving around your lounge at first I reckon. Apparently I already pull stupid faces when playing normal PS3 games

Was chatting to one of my mates about this and he was telling me that as soon as this video came out, the guy in it became hot property in the games development world and was snapped up by Nintendo to work on the 3ds. My mate is doing a phd in computer games design too so would usually be spot on with this sort of thing. He also reckons Natal from MS should be able to do it through its facial recognition software which checks the location of your eyes

Just watched the video. Awesome. I have 2 thoughts however. I wonder if current 3d recordings can be used? Would we want to be moving around (on the sofa :) to get that 3d impression while watching a movie?

Imagine a Matrix game - dodging bullets coming out at you from the screen in real time!
