Afternoon all
I've recently bought the LG 60PX990 set and have got it installed and working. I've just been writing up some instructions for my wife / parents / kids etc for them to use 3D and have had a peculiar moment...
To explain, I have SKH HD and a Yamaha RX-V2065 amp. I've also bought a 3D HDMI cable recently and also connected it to the back of the LG screen. So I've now got 2 HDMI inputs in the back of the screen and have told the family that they must unplug the HDMI cable from the SKY box to the Yamaha and connect the new 3D HDMI cable into the SKY box, as this goes directly into the screen. Then there is a series of instructions as to how to get 3D etc and the fact that the AMP won’t play 3D so the home cinema / surround sound doesn’t work.
HOWEVER, my wife just told me that she's been watching 3D without doing any of this, by just selecting SKY 3D and pressing the right buttons on the TV remote and watching it through the Yamaha amp, in glorious surround sound!!
So I'm now really confused as I didn’t think my Yamaha was 3D compatible, I certainly didn’t think that the existing HDMI cable was but it would appear that I've just been watching 3D through the AMP - have I??
It certainly wasn’t as bright as the direct from SKY to screen option, but I'm just guessing this was a set up / brightness thing. Am I going mad, can the Yamaha support 3D?
Cheers. Nick
