QUAD has been included for their electrostatic speakers but their debut products were amplifiers. If you have heard some of their old valve amplifiers and preamps you would understand why their reputation was founded on these products and not their speakers.
That's not to say that the ESLs weren't amazing but they weren't QUAD's debut product and some would still rank their amplifiers as their 'golden egg' products.
