32 inch plasma or lcd?????

Hi, my first post but you guys seem to kno what you're talking about - my old 32inch crt has finally died so need to get a new TV. 32 inch is as big as I can go really as my viewing distance is only 2.2 metres at max and 1.6 at least. Have read a few reviews but not sure which would be better now you can get smaller Plasmas, an LCD or Plasma? I mostly watch freeview tv through a BT vision box, and watch the odd DVD, and I've read that alot of sets aren't good on freeview pictures and that full HD at 32inch is a bit pointless I can spend around £500 but if something special could go higher. Would really appreciate some help and advice. Thanks in advance

At that size would not be worth going full HD or Plasma IMO.

Not sure too much on which LCD hd ready set to go for as there are hundreds.

Panasonic TX32LZD81 looks like a corker and is only £499 in Richer Sounds + has freesat if you every want to use it

Thanks for advice - read on another post that mag is doing a test of 32 inch lcd on issue on sale on Jan 9 so will have alook at that as well
