Hi everybody, could anybody advise?

I am currently looking to upgrade my Harmon Kardon amp and cd player after 20 years fine service. I do not want to compromise sound quality, in fact I wish to improve it significantly, and I have been looking at seperates and also all in one box solutions. I currently have a lot of stored digital music on both my PC and NAS and would be looking at a system that would incorporate this. I have been recommended the Naim Uniti and also the Linn Majik DSi. In an ideal world, I would have a system that streams digital music at a superior quality than cd, and would replace my cd collection is this currently possible?

I could possibly stretch to £2500 on interest free deals currently available. If I am shelling out this kind of money, I want to make sure I get it right, and also that it future proof, to a degree! I am currently torn as to the route to go down, so would welcome any adivice that anybody could give.

Thanks

If the architecture of the solution suits, I thoroughly recommend the AVI ADM9.1T with matching sub. What a combination.

I have a Uniti and it's the best stereo I've had in the house (and I've had a few). I've briefly heard a Linn DS playing 24/96 and it sounded more realistic than anything else I've heard, albeit with unfamiliar material. Thoughts on the Uniti here.

I think any of the streamers available, even down to a modest Squeezebox, are capable of the quality you desire given the right offboard ancilliaries, but the Uniti, the DS range and many others (eg Arcam's Neo, Marantz NA7004 plus amp, Sonos) all offer very good one-box solutions.
