Hello folks,

I've recently moved out of home and the size of my wallet has dictated my new living environment. Back home I had a simple 5.1 setup but that isn't possible anymore. A stereo setup is the best I can do now as the room I want to use is both small and unusually shaped. 5.1 is out of the question unfortunately.

I brought my receiver with me (Onkyo TX-SR507 - yeah I know, 2.1 is a bit of an insult to it) buthopefully I can compensate with good quality bookshelves. I need a subwoofer too and although not essential a centre speaker (although I'd consider that a bit of a bonus).

Ideally I'd like to stay under £500. Could you help me please

A bit pricey but certainly interesting. I've never seen a sound bar being used a a center speaker.

Any more recommendations folks?

I have been looking at the Jamo A102HCS5, guess there is nothing stopping me from buying them even though I can't use the back speakers.

Are they as good as the review suggests?

I like the Jamos a lot and highly recommend. I've had mine for a year now, and although the lounge is small (4x5 mtrs) they are great bang for buck.

If you get them in white, I'll buy your surplus back speakers from you.

Alternatively, two Monitor Audio R45s, maybe a centre speaker (go for 3.1) and a sub?
