Hi All,

This topic has probably been covered many times before, I tried searching the forum but couldn't find what I wanted.

Could anyone recommend me a 2.1 amplifer that is built into the sub as one unit, with L&R speaker outs to the satelites? Just looking for a nice neat set up.

Cheers

+1 for the AVI sub.

I bought one 2 months ago (£900 including the matching Neutron speakers) and I'm very impressed indeed. The sound quality is fantastic and is as good as the very best hifi's I ever heard for £2000.

The sub is great. It intergrates so smoothly and never sounds directional. It just extends the low frequencies of the stereo speakers and adds weight but without any of the 'boom' that you normally get with subs. It sounds tight and tuneful with music unlike most other subs which have clearly been designed to be loud and boomy with movies.

It has three very high quality 100watt amplifiers built into it. Apparently these amps are based on the old AVI Lab Series amplifiers which have a good reputation and still sell secondhand for around £800 when they occasionally appear on Ebay.

Here's some photos and a review if your interested. www.whathifi.com/forum/your-system/pc-based-setup-neutron-five-21

Anything else? There seems to be a bit of a dearth of this kind of product on the market.. any ideas why..?
