1080i, or 720p?

hi people. i have an infocus in76 projector connected to my ps3 for blu ray via a denon 4308 with all scaling in the denon switched off. my question is should i set the projector to 720p, or 1080i? i currently have it at 1080 but think this is then being scaled to match the native res of the pj: ie 720p. however, when i do back to back tests, 1080 does look sharper than 720. am i seeing things? or should i set it to 720? surley the less processing the better? it's driving me mental!! thanks for any advice

Don't try and think too hard about it, that's my advice. If it looks better to you in 1080i, then stick with that.

i am not sure my pj is capable of outputing at 1080 but it does say 1080 on screen but was told the pj was 720 when i purchased it. does the pj scale them image down? ps if anyone is in the market for a great receiver then have alisten to the denon 4308. need to give it some volume but it sounds great

See this post for an interesting (well... maybe!) discussion I've just had about this with another guy. Basically, it shows it is down converting it and you have to be really careful what words you use on this forum or someone will jump all over you!
