My Mum gave me a hundred quid for Xmas with instructions to spend it on me (as opposed the house, family etc).

Would like to spend it on the hi fi / HC kit but can't think of what – it's that awkward amount isn't it? too much for something but not nearly enough for others...

Any ideas?

JohnDuncan:Apple TV...
An excellent suggestion.

Alternatively, an Apple Airport Express and two or three months subscription to Spotify Premium. If it works out well, buy a DAC.

my dad gave me e250 and my mam e50, so i done the sensible thing in these testing times, i paid all my utility bills bought an airport express, a v dac, and all the necessary cables, and i'm getting spotify premium next week..

oh...and i upgraded my broadband

Have thought about the Apple TV (especially as it's now only £89 on Amazon) but have ruled it out as it won't stream from my NAS... and I'm not really interested in renting movies etc.

Am actually thinking about putting it towards a new sub woofer to replace my ageing ( and humming) Paradigm thing - but have absolutely no idea what would go with my largely Dynaudio set up...

If you're interested in putting it towards a new sub, those from BK electronics are exceptional value for money and highly rated (although not reviewed on this site). I have the XXLS400 and it's a top performer for music and movies.

idc:Spotify Premium, which is a bit over budget, but it is so worth it.

Oh boy, yes it's worth it! Superb stuff.

Just playing some Ryan Adams - Gold from there now. Great, easy going music for the early evening
