Does anyone recall a product reviewed by What HiFi being given one or no stars? I've just read a 2* review, the Teufel Impaq 600 and it got me a thinking "how bad would it have to be for a 1*' There is no significance to this post just inquisitiveness.

there was an oppo bluray thread last year, you would have thought that only got one star instead of the four it recived.

it all got a little angry when it didnt make all five little shinys

I think a CEC CD player got one star somewhen around 1993... It was about £300 and was described as a milk-sop.

Whatever one of those is.

I bought a 14" LG LCD TV a good few years ago for £330 (Didn't want anything fancy, but the old Bush 14" in our bedroom didn't have a scart input for our DVD player).

A few months later WHF gave it one star.

I didn't think it was that bad for some occasional viewing. Off axis viewing was downright dire though. I took the tilt-backwards-but-not-forwards stand off and put it on the other way around, so the TV was angled down to the bed. I had to tether it to stop it toppling forward.

A milk sop is dry bread soaked in milk. I remember as a young child being prescribed this by a doctor when I was unwell to try and settle my stomach and promote my appetite! It didn't work!

one-star ratings are rare, but we typically have a few every year....

But generally, the quality/standard of products is far higher than it was a few years' back. Well, until they all need firmware upgrading due to compatibility issues

Saxon put out a CD player about five years back that picked up the top one star gong. £600. Can't recall the model number.

I seem to recall a review that was adwarded no star for the product reviewed before. Just once.

But can't recall what product it was or when it was.
