My brother has asked my missus what he should get me for my birthday - and has the princely sum of "up to £40, I suppose" at his disposal! Which would you opt for:

(A): Chord Crimson Sub cable to replace the cheapish (£15 6 years ago) sub-cable; or

(B): Clearer Audio Copper Line Aplha for my amp.

(Bearing in mind my sub-woofer is the weakest link in my system and I have a tacima already!)

Vote now! (and show your workings, if you dare!)

Cheers and begorrah!

I have a back-catelogue of reading material that extends into the next century (and only properly read on planes or on holiday) - Black Swans has been gathering dust since my trip home at Christmas and The Damned United is waiting to come on.

He wants to contribute to my AV vice, so let 'em.

Try the Copper Line Alpha - you can always send it back for a full refund if not happy.
I'm always sceptical about spending £££ on speaker cable and interconnects. Especially for a sub!

JohnDuncan:
*other film magazines are available (just not from Haymarket, bizarrely)

Not that bizarrely: we don't have a rival to this, either:

hah - the Departed on Blu-ray. Will that play on my DVD player???!

I've been boycotting Empire ever since they gave a 4* rating to "The Terminal". I went to see it on the back of their review and thought it an appalingly sentimental pile of steaming matter. I couldn't understand it. Until I got home and read the rest of the magazine, including an exclusive interview with one Mr S. Spielberg...!

Try the Copperline. Might work better on the TV than amp though
