£1000 to spend on a new cd player . do i spend it on a old cd player that costs £1000 today or buy a new cd player that cost a £1000 new ?

You can get a stunning used player for £1k - if you're the guy with the Krell amp and KEF Reference speakers, cash like that will get you a very respectable player. Have a look at Shadow Audio's website...he stocks some very high end stuff. Alternatively, Midland Audio Exchange to name but two. They tend to carry some pretty specialist kit as does Central Audio; both are in Birmingham I think.

along the same lines. I've got an offer for a Rega Planet 2000 for 525CAD (260 quid) shipping included. What do you guys think??? Worth it? Can I do better?
