    KEF Q300 - Help !

It might have been there before I tired the bi-wiring. I had the covers on so I just didn't notice maybe. I never play anything really loud as I'm in a small flat. I used a humid soft cloth and wiped off the residue and it looks clean now. Just curious as to what those marks were..

    KEF Q300 - Help !

Morning all, I recently acquired a pair of KEF Q300s in brand new condition and have had the hooked up with a single wire for about two weeks. Last night, I was watching a few videos on the benefits (or not) of bi-wiring and decided to give it a try. There were a few strange moments when i...

    Frustration Frustration

New listening update. These KEFs are more to my liking globally, especially the bass but it sometimes can be too heavy...which got me thinking about room space. My listening area is very small (around 6m2) and I sit about 2 meters away from the speakers. I'm thinking that maybe a smaller...

    Frustration Frustration

I have to turn the volume up with the cassette deck only. The volume is the same as before with the CD transport. Also, I hooked the speakers up with two sets of wires (bi-wired connection). Not sure if this is necessary or not ?

The one thing I have noticed is that I need to turn the volume up more than I did with the M20s,

    Frustration Frustration

Update : I sent those Elacs back the following day as it was clear that they weren't what i was looking for. I then borrowed the KEF Q300s from my neighbour (with a view to buying them) and straight away, things fell more or less into place. The bass is more controlled and although the vocals...

    Frustration Frustration

Are the Q300s a range equivalent of the Emit M20s? They seem to be price wise but what about performance? They seem pretty similar but the Q300 has a front port..

    Frustration Frustration

I like a penetrating, vibrating bass rather than the thumping bass that I’m getting right now. I listen to a lot of hip hop and electronic music and the warmth and full bodied bass of that type of music isn’t apparent with current set-up. It all feels too bright and analytical and would probably...

    Frustration Frustration

I received the Elacs this morning. Very well built and a pretty elegant looking speaker (better looking than the photos I'd seen) but right off the bat, I could tell that the aren't as dynamic as the Emit M20s..The front port doesn't seem to change much bass wise but it's early doors. This might...

    Amped!

The Denon PMA seems to have good reviews and quite a few of my requirements.. The PMA600 has integrated bluetooth and a sub out (not that I want a sub) The PMA800 is more powerful but no bluetooth.. The PMA800 is currently cheaper than the 600 which is probably due to demand.. Should I try the...
