Replacement stylus or cartridge for 2004 RP3

As far as I am aware the arm is a standard RB300

Replacement stylus or cartridge for 2004 RP3

It's definitely not one like that. Here is a pic (excuse the dust!)I think it is a Rega Bias 2 which is no longer available. Is the Rega Elys 2 a replacement for the Bias? I assume the Rega Carbon would be step down as ifs fitted to the RP1. I have seen some criticisms of the next cartridge up...

Replacement stylus or cartridge for 2004 RP3

What are the options in replacing the stylus & cartridge that came as standard back in 2004 on a Rega Planar 3? I'm looking to either replace or perhaps a mild upgrade of the original unmarked red cartridge. It is connected to a Cambridge A5 and some ancient ARC 050 with added crossovers.

Choosing a used phono preamp on a budget

So I splashed out and went for an Ortofon OM10 cartridge as it wasn't much more than just a replacement stylus and a cheap KabelDirekt RCA Phono lead (well it had to be better than the non hifi moulded ones). It took a little longer than I thought to get the cartridge installed and aligned...

Choosing a used phono preamp on a budget

Finally won a Pro-Ject Phono Box MM on ebay, ironically from the same charity shop, so I suspect it may have been with the record deck in the first place and got separated. Much better fuller sound, but the stylus is a bit crackly. Could be because the deck was shipped without securing or...

Choosing a used phono preamp on a budget

Back on the hunt for a phono preamp, for as little as possible, I figure that a used Cambridge Azur 551P would be better than a new generic (many names on similar boxes) one from amazon. Watching one one ebay. Back up option is a Pro-Ject Phono E on Amazon for £55.

Choosing a used phono preamp on a budget

There isn't a specific ceiling! I'm just trying to build a basic system that will sound a lot better than the suitcase for as little as possible with secondhand equipment. It won't compete with official starter setups, but will be an improvement on what she has and some parts might be...

Choosing a used phono preamp on a budget

I don't really want to replace the A5 having only just bought it! I'll keep an eye out on ebay for a preamp. Can get generic ones new on amazon for £25 but I'm not sure whether to go for one of those and spend the rest on a new stylus. I'm trying to assemble something as cheaply as possible -...

Choosing a used phono preamp on a budget

I had it working today but without a preamp it was obviously lacking in depth and warmth.

Choosing a used phono preamp on a budget

Hi I'm a newbie to the forum! I'm building a basic turntable system for my daughter to replace her briefcase all in one player. Mostly shopping on ebay, gum tree etc and what I have stored in the shed!! I have an elderly Pro-Ject Debut 3 with new power supply and mat, a Cambridge A5 and a pair...
