    Over ear cans - recommendations?

I tried the Meze Classics and Grado SR325x back to back. The Meze were ok but the only word I can think of to describe the sound is “diluted” The Grado transformed music for me. I have a thread about them I think. Stunning sound and wide sound stage. I had actually intended to buy the Meze or...

Question iPhone/iPad + DAC + wired headphones for lossless?

Thanks for your input. The thread is outdated now - I bought a Marantz network streamer for home audio. My headphones are Grado 325x and they sound great with the Apple dongles

I've said at least twice that I was merely clarifying that the comment about technology moving on was streaming vs CD, and not to compare one CD player with another. If you truly can't understand that, I'm not sure how else to say it.

I don't really understand what you're trying to say here - again, I was just trying to offer some clarity into what was originally said. As to this comment, who said "always"? I'm sure everyone would agree that the quality of both input and output is crucial. You've just said it was years ago...

The great thing about it is it's really, really easy to test. Put a CD player and streamer in the same room with the same speakers, put a blindfold on, and have someone else switch the source. Run through half a dozen to a dozen songs and in 30 minutes you'll discover how well you can really...

Reminds me of a fitness video I saw a while back - the guy was talking about when gyms were closed during covid and just finding other ways to workout, and he said "your muscles don't know whether they're lifting a barbell or a bucket, they just know they're under tension." Data is data.

I'm not trying to convince you to start streaming - I want people to enjoy music however they best prefer. I was just trying to clarify that the earlier point being made was specifically in reference to the sound quality between CD and streaming, and it not being the same as comparing one CD...

Right I get that, but the "technology moves on" comment was in regards to streaming - and the technology now being present for streaming to be as good a quality as listening to a CD. Whereas in comparison, comparing one CD player to another is to compare the quality of competing products. Or...

    Amazon prime this is disgusting

Having a credit card is not a sentence to being in debt. They are a tool. Used correctly, they give peace of mind and a healthy credit score. Used incorrectly, they'll put you into horrendous debt. A lawnmower used correctly can contribute to having a nice lawn. Used incorrectly it can cut...

Isn’t that comparing two versions of a product rather than one technology to another?

Indeed. This is why I don't use vinyl. The best way to truly know if one sounds better to your ears is for you to leave the room while someone else puts the music on. Let them play half a dozen songs and see how often you guess correctly.

That's entirely down to the person. My credit cards give me a combined limit somewhere around £30,000-£40,000. My current balance is £1,600 after going audio equipment shopping on the weekend. This is convenient for me, gives me protections, earns me points, but more importantly for my credit...

Did you sign that with pen or did they send you a card with your signature already applied to it? If the former, it’s not a digital signature. If the latter, I’ve never heard of this being done.

Interesting. Do they not expire and need renewing? I'd have thought they'd be mandatory to replace with a photo version 👀
