Multi hdmi 5.1 in, only 2.0 out - any solutions?

Hi, my old Samsung FHD set doesn’t pass 5.1 signals from sky etc on HDMI out the optical as 5.1 but only as 2.0. To get round this I currently run HDMI from sky, BR into tv for pictures and sound from them on optical into a switch box to feed my Sonos Playbar on optical. Do any current TVs pass...

Bluray player with 2x HDMI (both having video and audio)

Hi all I have a Samsung BD-H6500 BR player and want to be able to watch films on more than 1 TV. I tried using an HDMI splitter but without success and having checked with Samsung support they say their players don't support HDMI splitters. Does anyone know of a player with 2 HMDI outputs that...

HDR - is it worth paying £350 extra for it now?

You can set HDR on for the hdmi inputs but not for streaming services, so won't be able to get Amazon prime or Netflix HDR content, according to my local Samsung specialist reseller. HDR tv, ie sky bbc etc, is a way off yet as is mainstream readily available HDR 4K bluray

HDR - is it worth paying £350 extra for it now?

I'm torn between 55JS8500 display model for £1150 inc 5 yr warranty or £1499 for 55KS7000 which is HDR, also with 5yr warranty. Read lots about the joys of HDR but in real world and with 3-5 year view, is there going to be any or enough HDR content to make it worth the spend (or even see the...

Blu-Ray player to replace Arcam CD72 and be at least as good musically

I've got the CD72 for music and a PS3 for Blu-ray. I'm looking to get rid of the PS3 and replace it with a BR player so thought maybe I can get rid of 2 boxes and replace it with 1, ie a BR player that is musically as good as the CD72. Sadly I can't afford the new Arcam BR player even with the...

advice needed on tx-p37x10 after reading some less than positive comments about it...

Hey Liz We've used it for well over the 200 hours now, although I have no idea where the 'run your plasma for 200 hours before you do anything' came from - maybe it was true for plasmas in the early days but there is nothing in the manual about it! I've played with lots of settings (probably...

advice needed on tx-p37x10 after reading some less than positive comments about it...

Hey Liz, you got your new toy yet? No idea why some people seem to have such a downer on this set, but for all those that love something there will always be those that don't and want to share their views with the world! On the subject of overscan, I much prefer it off, thats just my opinion...

    Panasonic 37PX10 or Samsung 37A656

I've had the 37PX10 for over a month now - I think its great and as importantly so does the wife, since I had to persuade her we needed a new set blah blah blah...... With SD its brilliant (we compared it side by side with the 42" version and the 37 looked sharper) and both BluRay & upscaled...

Getting Panasonic 37X10. Advice needed please.

Hi Liz All I can say is that I'm very very happy with mine . No idea how it compares against the previous model as I've never seen them side by side but I don't care either, as I've bought a tv that I spent ages looking at in the shop and chose over & above the others I looked at! The trouble...

Getting Panasonic 37X10. Advice needed please.

Hey Liz There seems to be a bit of debate over the merits of cheap versus expensive leads, but I agree with those that know (ie the What HiFi team!) and better quality leads = better quality image & sounds transfer. The same has always been true for analoge HiFi leads, speaker cable etc so the...

Another Which TV Question of the Panasonics

TH-P37X10B is your best bet IMHO - I've got one and its brilliant SD content is superb, DVD's & BluRay via PS3 are stunning. I spent a few hours in our local shop comparing it against other 37" sets including full HD LCDs - in the end its the set that stood out.

Getting Panasonic 37X10. Advice needed please.

Hi Liz You're finally taking the plunge - good for you!! With regards to unpacking, attaching the stand etc, you will need 2 people just to make sure that you don't drop your shiny new toy! Being a plasma, the screen ideally needs to be kept pretty upright when you put it together and...
