New amp that changed an uncompromising opinion and beat the opposition so convincingly I took it home

1,113 words (with no punctuation) to say that the Technics Grand Class broke?

New amp that changed an uncompromising opinion and beat the opposition so convincingly I took it home

Are you saying that the Technics SU-G700M2 reduces or eliminates the sibilance from 'Same Old Song'? I gather that you are listening to 'Automatic' on CD using the Roskan K3?

    WTH??? Vocal frequency ranges.

'bite' in this case being onomatopoeic (musically). A term used by mixing engineers. Remember, everything we are listening to is fake unless it was recorded live with a couple of mics, a dummy head or a simple Decca tree set up in a live space. However, what's not fake when there’s a one in...

    WTH??? Vocal frequency ranges.

You're getting hung up on the 'fundamental' frequency. The 'air' on recorded vocals can extend all the way up to 20KHz. Mid range 'bite' is around 1-4K.

Old speakers, new tweeters are a bit too sharp

Whizzer cones are quite common on cheap full range speakers. There is no crossover involved, the paper cone is just connected directly to the voice coil and helps to extend the high frequency range - you could call it an integrated 'poor mans tweeter'. For example; this Visaton 6.5" driver that...

    STREAMING QUALITY

The MusicCast app is a controller app that tells the Spotify server what to play and streams it directly to your Yamaha device. So no, there will not be a difference in sound quality as the sound is not going through your phone or tablet at all. If you have successfully installed the Musicast...

    Earphone tips

Earbuds essentially suck. The sound is constantly changing ever so slightly as they loosen slightly over time, especially when working out. I find myself constantly having to re adjust them. They are also hard on your hearing, more so than over the ears. I’ve tried just about every after market...

Old Bose QC25's vs New Bose QC... newer isn't always better?

I purchased a pair of the latest Bose QC phones for a friend for Christmas... I almost purchased a second pair for myself but have not done so yet (and probably will not). I have an old pair of Bose QC25's from 2014 (wired only) and mainly use them for travel, but I also use them while working...

    Problem with PMC PRODIGY 1

You mentioned that on the night prior to having issues with the PMC's that you had been using; CXN v2 Streamer, Vincent sv-237mkii amp, and SMSL Su9 dac The next time you listened to the speakers were you still using the same gear/signal chain? I find it interesting that you were using a $99...

    Got a deal on a Yamaha R-N800a... it's amazing

The amps latest firmware is 1.07, the app is version 5.91. The RN800a does not support Tidal Connect. You either connect using the Tidal 'source' in the MusicCast app (of course, you will have to log in to your Tidal account while in the MusicCast app) or use the standalone Tidal connect app and...

Question How to plug an electro acoustic guitar into a hifi system

Possible yes, but personally I wouldn't do it. Your stereo system is not designed to be a PA system. Just buy an acoustic guitar amp. that's designed for the job.

Question Did I connected my speakers right?

This is NOT even close to how he has them wired according to his photographs.

Question Did I connected my speakers right?

This wiring is horizontal bi amping. The terminal links are removed from the speakers. Amp A is powering the HF speakers and amp B is powering the LF speaker. It doesn't matter that the amps are running in parallel. If he switches the amp output to speakers A he will only get sound from the LF...

    JBL L60 tweeters crackling

"The speakers have four binding posts. If I only connect my source to the high-frequency inputs, I hear the crackling. If I connect it to the low frequency inputs, no crackle." This makes me think that you don't have any bridging bars connecting the 2 red terminals and the 2 black terminals...
