    Pioneer VSX-922 UE22 Error - worth fixing?

I've got quite an old Pioneer VSX-922 AV receiver. It developed a UE22 error. Factory reset fixed it for a day, but then it came back and now there is no sound at all. Is this worth getting serviced as it's so old? If so could anyone recommend somewhere I might look to get it repaired. Thanks

    Stands/risers for tower speakers?

You could try looking for stands meant for centre speakers. They are usually quite low. Or Hifiracks.co.uk can do custom sizes I think.

    Things You Threw Away

One that went to the tip in working condition was the Sony minidisc player. One that got sold on eBay far too cheaply was an inherited Linn LP12 about 10 years ago just before the vinyl resurgence. Didn’t know much about them then and definitely wish I kept it.

Most effective upgrade to Pro-Ject X2

I think it’s the same as the red but the cart has silver windings instead of copper.(from memory so could be wrong)

Most effective upgrade to Pro-Ject X2

£325 is the cheapest I've seen the 1042. Read some good reviews of it, so I think it might be worth it. Just have to wait a bit longer to do it. Thanks everyone.

Most effective upgrade to Pro-Ject X2

With up to £200 to spend, which of these would make the most effective upgrade in terms of sound quality. Ortofon 2M Blue Stylus (just stylus, not full cart as have the 2M Silver now) £95 approx Aluminium sub platter £139 Phono stage like Cambridge Alva Solo or Rega Fono MM £200 Some kind of...

    New streamer

I demo'd the Bluesound Node 2i against the Cambridge CXN V2 and the CXN was clearly better, especially in the bass. It was using Audiolab 6000A amp and Dali speakers (oberon 3 I think). I also shortlisted the Audiolab 6000N streamer as I had the matching amp, but after a discussion about DTS...

    Speaker positioning.

I’ve also wondered why some speakers - such as the KEF Q350 I have - say to place 225mm from the wall, then they sell a wall bracket that mounts them flush to the wall.

Try not to laugh too hard....

Don't all cables have air round them? If it's such a great insulator, why are there so many (supposed) problems with interference?

Integrated Amplifier to fit Warfedale Linton's

The LEAK STEREO 130 is a great match styling wise. From the same IAG group as the Wharfdales too. A few dealers selling it bundled with Lintons should say it's a good match.

    Technics(Panasonic)

This amp has been very well reviewed. https://www.technics.com/uk/products/reference-class/su-r1000.html No built-in streamer but has 6 digital inputs - two each of optical, coax and USB

Question Newbies getting into vinyl fad

One interesting positive side affect for me. I’ve been working from home since the beginning of lockdown one. All that sitting hasn’t done my back much good. Playing records during the day instead of streaming means I need to get up every 20-30 minutes to turn or change the record so I get some...
