    Sealed box speakers

Room is is quite small and unfortunately almost square at 11ft x 10ft. As for listening literally anything except Rap. Although recently I've been getting into impossibly dull ambient and electronic... the perils of Apple Music

Hoping my Marantz PM7000N is the 'right' amp, should I decide to get the SCM7's. I think the Marantz is warm sounding and easy going, do you think SCM7's would play nice with this amp?

    Sealed box speakers

This is the Marantz blurb, I can only take it at face value. However its quite a weighty piece of kit with quite a large shielded toroidal power supply.

    Sealed box speakers

Thanks for this and I'm assuming 32 amps is sufficient for both the 7 or ... maybe the 11's.... the latter being a very hard sell to my significant other half (she who has an extensive... and expensive handbag collection😂)

    Sealed box speakers

According to Marantz "The power amplifier of this unit is capable of delivering an instantaneous current of over 32 A, providing powerful speaker performance" ... enough for the SMC7? although I'm led to believe that the SMC11 is more efficient than the SMC7

The Ruark Sabre sound interesting, how did they perform? My room is 11ft x 10ft and huge amounts of bass are not on my wish list.

    Sealed box speakers

Hi, I have been using some old Wharfedale Denton XP's recently and I can't decide if I like the difference or their sound over my Q Acoustic 3030i's. They are definitely sound clearer than my 3030i's so I was thinking about getting some modern sealed box speakers possibly ATC SMC7's, but I've...

Wharfedale Denton XP2 speakers... The shock of the old (with the new)

The Denton's are not to tiring to listen to at the moment, although I see where you are coming from, as they are are quite 'crispy'(?) sounding, but they do have have surprising amount of non boomy bass. Of course modern source equipment must be a factor in their sound, as I had a pair of...

Wharfedale Denton XP2 speakers... The shock of the old (with the new)

Wow that board looks amazing, its symmetry sits well with my mild OCD 😊

Wharfedale Denton XP2 speakers... The shock of the old (with the new)

I recently aquired a Douk Audio vu3 pro as I'm a sucker for VU meters and as far as I can tell they are not 'corrupting' the signal path.. there got that out of the way! Anyways at the same time I was given some ancient Wharfedale Denton XP's, which gave me an excuse to do some side by side...

Question What's your next HiFi purchase?

I recently got my hands on some ancient Wharfedale Denton XP2’s and I was pleasantly surprised by their clarity. Whilst comparing them to my Q Acoustics 330i’s I noticed that the subdued but accurate base of the XP’s was refreshing. This got me thinking as to whether modern sealed enclosure...

    Marantz PM7000N low pass filter

Daft question, but if I do not have a subwoofer connected to my Marantz PM7000N what frequency should the amps low pass filter be set to? My speakers are Q Acoustics 3030i's

I’ve bought another cassette deck… why oh why

I'm so busted and I agree its irrational to persevere with such an unreliable format. That said I am smitten with silver faced retro gear... especially if they've got BIG vu meters! However, to quote one of may favourite yootoobers... "Cassettes - better than you don't remember" and whilst...
