I'm now a bit confused. I've just bought a new belt. I am going to test the cables once I get a multi meter. I will get a new cartridge when I work out what I actually need. My question is; does a cartridge come with a stylus?? I am open to suggestions.

I have never tried to service a turntable but I am willing to give it a try. Leads into the deck are soldered so that will be my first challenge!1 Cables don't look damaged externally.

I really don't think it is the speakers. If I move the cables around it gets worse or stops. Stylus and cartridge probably 20 plus years. Just been resurrected from my attic.

Hi, thanks for your replies. Would I just connect the headphones to the amp? I have been looking at Austrian audio hi-x15 headphones. As far as a cd player I was looking at a maximum of £100 for a second hand machine. Just loving listening to my old records again at the moment 👍🏼
