Yes, just like that. I think after reading everything I will get the Ortofon dn165e. I hope that works. I'm sure it will be better than what I'm using at the moment. Thanks for everyone who has helped. I have not purchased anything yet so please if anyone wants to add any more ideas please do.

I'm now a bit confused. I've just bought a new belt. I am going to test the cables once I get a multi meter. I will get a new cartridge when I work out what I actually need. My question is; does a cartridge come with a stylus?? I am open to suggestions.

I have never tried to service a turntable but I am willing to give it a try. Leads into the deck are soldered so that will be my first challenge!1 Cables don't look damaged externally.
