Oops forgot to put high sensitivity on the list

The valve amplifier market is booming but not so much in the UK. Valve amps require high sensitivity speakers which is why they are on the list. I'm trying to find if there is a desire from forum members for a particular type of loudspeaker which they find difficult to locate or hear in the uk

But surely the times are changing with active speakers incorporating dsp and the resurgence of valve amps

what loudspeaker type are you most interested in, what would you most like to hear in your room 1 active, 2 passive, 3 open baffle,

sorry should have stated budget up to £2000 i listen to all music jazz electronic and heavy metal

i wish to upgrade my pmc gb1i for a good standmount up to £2300,they are to be used in a 10ft by 14ft listening room with quad 909 99 and musical fidelity a1008 cd player,does anyone have any good sugestions,i listen to all kinds of music and prefer a fast dynamic sound thanks,

has anybody tried using pro-active monitors instead of normal passive speakers,being active they should be better controlled and more accurate many have room corection adjustments,ive been looking at adam audio s3x and they look to be a good buy,how many people have bought new speakers or amps...

i did listen to components at home but have since moved to a house where i now have dedicated music room which is smaller and has plasterboard walls

if i move them further away from walls i loose too much base

the singers always sound like they are in the background,atlas speaker cable and qed interconects but would these really make much of a difference,and yes i would like it to sound more dynamic and foreward,

please can someone advise me on why my system sounds dull in the midrange,using m fidelity a1008cd,pmc gb1i speakers and quad 99/909amp,
