Which is better Kef LS50 Wireless 2 or B&W Formation Duo?

For what its worth, Ive owned the formation duos for about a year now and I think they are superb. And in response to the post that questioned whether the kef wireless needed a sub, to compete with the formation duos, the would absolutely need a sub. The formation duo bass is spectacular...

PMC to increase prices from August 1st

It not sure why I would care about this so called “build quality” in the slightest. I’ve owned many PMC speakers and they consistently look fantastic. They consistently sound fantastic. And I never once had a pair degrade in even the tiniest way. So, if they can use crappy cheap build...

    Downsizing...re

Pretty much agree with you. A budget system can be highly satisfying but I think it requires more experimentation to get the right mix. I tried kef r500s before the dyns and they offered brilliant clarity and detail but they were too cold and analytical. They also lacked bass. As is typical...

    Downsizing...re

Hello all, Been downsizing everything in my life lately including my audio system. I’ve been trying a lot of gear in the more reasonably priced end of the hobby. In my media room I have replaced PMC Fact 12s and a devialet d400 with a musical fidelity m5si and a pair of dynaudio x34s. I...

    Some PMC love....

Thank you. Actually just repainted the room with the Fact 8s and have a bit more to do. The paint I had before in here I hated the day after I finished painting. But it took me a couple years to work up the energy to repaint. This chocolate brown works much better than the old color IMO. If...

    Some PMC love....

Hi Kubs, They don't integrate. I have two seprate systems in this room. I have the KEF Egg 5.1 speakers attached to the walls and powered by a marantz home theater amp hidden in the cabinet. Then I have the 2 channel stereo system which consists of the Devialet D200 and the Fact 8s. One...

    Some PMC love....

Quick fanboy post about PMC. I've been an audiophile for decades. Before I discovered PMC speakers I purchased speakers about every 6 months for years. I've owned probably 25 different pairs easily. Then I bought my first pair of PMCs and I stopped buying speakers. Full stop, no more...

Hey, good to connect with you again. Yes, did have 12s. Traded someone for the 8s (and cash). Timing was right to downsize a bit (despite my love for the 12s). Also, the fact 8s are more efficient and that allowed me to downsize the electronics as well from Devialet D400 to a D200.

    Warm-Smooth bookshelf speaker

Not sure if this was mentioned but I highly recommend trying dynaudio based on your preference for a richer earthier sound. A pair of the older contours would be exactly the rich sumptuous sound you are after.

    PMC Twenty5 22 and stands

First of all, the idea that you must use PMC stands is ridiculous. Any well made stand is fine. The important thing to get great sound from a stand mount speaker is proximity to walls. Best to experiment with placement but typically some good free space around them is best. Not sure about...

Yeah, bummed that the dust caps have those little dents but I couldn't get replacement drivers off the shelf. Those units are PMC in house drivers. And my experience with buying anything directly from PMC is, don't bother, price prohibitive. As I said, the tweeters were readily available off...

Thanks for the "welcome back" bigboss. Yeah, it's been long while since I've posted here. Life got "real" for a bit. And thanks for all the kind replies. For anyone curious about the painting process: 1. Removed all drivers and crossover in back. 2. Pryed out rubber grill grommets from...

So, I've been wanting to add some music to the little sitting room at the front of our home. Wanted great sound without the big price tag. So I've been waiting for the suitable pair of speakers to pop up on ebay and they finally did about a month ago. A beat up pair of PMC GB1i's. They had...
