Been away from this forum for a long time. Just read this thread, so a bit late here.
Just to say, i have a pretty good CD set-up, tooks years to get where i wanted to be. The last months i have spent more and more time listening to my old(and some new)LP's. Bought a Rega RP3 with Elys 2 as a...
Can't comment on the Dali's, but i also have the Ushers mini two DMD for around a year now, upgraded from the Be718's
All the speaker you will ever need. Hard to find better at the price point in my opinion.
They are big speakers and very heavy. Finish is excellent. They need at least 60 hours...
One thing i have noticed with HD movies, such is the level of detail that some scenes loose the reality of the movie/effect. All too easy to notice that they acting against a projected image and not actually being where they are supposed to be(if you understand what i mean)
Overall the price i ended up paying was about £1k more than the plasma you mentioned(included wall mounting and an extra 2 pairs of glasses). In fact, pretty similar to the price of my original Pioneer plasma when i bought it. The bigger 85 inch panels are just way too ££££ for now.
So far i...
I had been thinking for some time now about a TV upgrade having been living with a 42 inch Pioneer Plasma for the past 7 years or so, that was now looking rather small. Another reason to change was to simplify the connection process and remove a nightmare of cables behind the cabinet. Originally...
So just to update and hopefully the final entry. New unit was delivered tonight as promised.
Plugged in and the three CD's that could not play, all play fine.
Amazing sound
Thanks for the excellent support from Roksan
Roksan have the serial number and are looking into it. My ears tell me to stay with the Caspian, so a replacement unit will be delivered within the next few days.
It sounds like a dodgy consignment or batch, as I alluded to earlier. But it doesn't matter if they're gold plated throughout, a duff batch is a duff batch, regardless of awards. This is why I always try to encourage demoing before parting with money, especially if the dealer has previously...
Continued listening into the night. Apart from the 2 CD's mentioned, all sounded fine, then half way into a Roxette live CD, jump, skip, speed up, stop. The display then said no disc.
So far about 3 out of 15 CD's dont track. Tested each again on my old CD player and all track fine and retested...
They will bring the Denson round to my home tomorrow to listen in my own system where i can decide to take a new Denson or have the Roksan replaced.
Can't complain about the service and fairness of the shop.
The Rokasn was an easy purchase based on reveiws here and certainly is a significant...
I am a long way from the UK. The shop was pretty clear on the issues they have had, but i was not expecting a next day issue.
They have of course offered to replace the unit, but are less than confident it wont happen again.
So far all other CD's played are ok and the sound is excellent.
I...
Try again
Bought a Roksan Caspian M2 at the weekend. So far 2 CD's wont track properly. Both happen to be Pink Flyod CD's.
The shop gave me a gentle warning that they have had several units returned with this issue and suggested a Denson B410XS instead.
I took the Roksan and they told me to...
Being a spectacle wearer and having sat through several 3D movies on the big screen over the past few years, i think its dam uncomfortable to wear these 3D specs over normal spectacles.
I certainly have no intention to have to do this at home to watch TV, unless a better alternative is available.
Since you are in Singapore, first take a trip to Bukit Timah Plaza and have a listen to the Usher range of speakers, especially the Be-718's or Mini Dancer 1's or 2's
Be-718's work well close to walls, have great detail, surprising bass and are ideal for apartments.
