I compared the 2 side by side in John Lewis. I then compared the 2 in Richer sounds where they turned the lights off so I could check out the black levels. I couldn't tell the difference. They both looked good to me. I ordered the 46" 7000 on-line from John Lewis with a price match to Richer...
I heard the Marantz pearl Lite amplifier and Cd combination. I much prefer it to the Roksan combination. I found the Marantz full bodied and atmospheric. It was great with classical and some ambient music. It's not the last word in detail - this wouldn't worry me though as the alternative is...

I sent my Chord Active HDMI back. It did make a difference but not one I liked. Colours were vivid but motion control was blurred and resolution appeared soft compared to my existing cable - the 1 star Panasonic HDMI. The biggest difference I noticed in blu ray is when I changed my player to a...
The Chord Active rrp is £115 so is in excess of £60. However I bought mine from Peter Tyson £40.99 for 1.5m. This is because this cable has been replaced with one that has an ethernet return - you don't need this.
In terms of results I think it's a matter of taste. I had a Panasonic HDMI which...
Or try the LX52 which is better than the LX53 for picture, sound and build quality. I'd even go for the 320 before the 53. I found the loading times on my LX52 fast enough and they improved after a firmware update.
LX52 does not judder and I've just ordered mine. It was the Panasonic BD65 that juddered and all the settings were fine. I've noticed the Pioneer 320 is available at £80 from Richer sounds which is a better bet than most budget players if you're just interested in how well it plays blu rays.
Have asked around and answered my own question - better quality components, especially audio and chasis is more rigid on the LX52 compared to LX53. In fact I was told that the if you don't want 3d then the LX52 is even better than the current LX54. LX52 it is then.
The 52 started at a higher price than the 53. Just noticed the 53 online at superfi for £200 and the 52 at 7oaks for £250. Not sure about the relative merits quality wise of one over another.
I posted a seperate thread about how I'd had judder problems with partnering my panasonic PX80B plasma with Panasonic BDP 65. I borrowed the LX52 and after a nights viewing am thinking of going for this at £250 as judder is negligable and picture quality more natural. I notice however the newer...
Thanks for your thoughtful reply. If I had a home cinema set up and wasn't connecting the BDP to my hifi I would get the sony 370. The 360 did not have any judder issues - unfortunately it sounded pants through my 2 channel hifi. The Panosonic 65 sounds much better but as the picture does not...
Hi,
I own the panasonic TH-37PX80B plasma which although not full HD accepts native 24fps and is 100hz. I had a sony bdp 360 which ran with it fine until I gave it to my parents. I borrowed a panasonic BD65 and the sound was vastly improved over the sony and I'm happy with that aspect of the...
