While I am looking for a headshell I notice that some are many times more in price than others. Why is this is my question? In fact I can buy a headshell with a cartridge and stylus for the same money as a low cost headshell. It makes me think I might as well buy something like this just...

OK, so this month I should just get the cartridge and wait till next month to get a stylus. How does that sound? Or, maybe get the conical one now and change the actual stylus later? Bearing in mind that the audio system I will be using is a TV soundbar!!

And, should I junk this in the pic - is it just rubbish. I think it is the original headshell that came with the Pioneer back in the seventies and I had labelled it as stereo. Things were so very different 50 years ago.

Seriously, what do you think of this package as I am close to buying...

I am going to give it a go - it will get the Pioneer "on the road" so to speak and I can always go better later on - Starmer willing.:(

I am still going to acquire an up-to-date cheapo turntable with all the latest bells an whistles. I wasn't particularly enamoured with the AT LP60X partly because of the feeling it was in control and not me. If it had the features that my Pioneer has I reckon it would have been superb...

I saw those a few days ago. I still have the actual box as well and it reads , but faded, 1977. I stopped using it at about the time CDs came out more or less! lol

Talking of which, I have a rattle can of air duster which chucks out liquid more than air. Awful stuff.
