Thanks for the link. The turntable has built in RCA cables and read that the grounding could be within these; the Sony PS-HX500 does not have the cables built in. I guess that’s the reason!

Thanks for your reply. No issues. I'm currently using it with the bluetooth connection as I had initially planned to. As mentioned, I'm looking to upgrade the system soon and was just curious re. the lack of a grounding terminal if I have a PHONO/LINE switch.
