    BT Open reach outside

Get ready for a large price increase with Gigaclear at end of contract. Apparently they are renowned for it. I won't consider them as their contractors severed my phone line when they were installing fibre in my road. Cowboys. But then two years later BT did exactly the same :)

The Car Thread (motorbikes reluctantly allowed!)

Did the wind, rain, and snow as a dispatch rider when I was between jobs for a few years back in the early 90's. Had the best time ever, but now at the age of 68 I'm strictly a fair weather rider only. I ride like everyone is out to kill me :)

Haven't got one for bikes have we? :) It was only posted to put things into perspective when discussing performance figures.

I'll throw my hat in the ring. 500bhp per ton and returns 50 mpg. It's only got two wheels though and is quite sedate by modern standards:)

Question What's your next HiFi purchase?

Congrats and enjoy, Jason (y) I've loved the last three and half years of not needing to set an alarm clock. I don't even wear a watch anymore, my time is now my own:)

My current fuse box is just that, a fuse box with wire fuses. It's and old brown bakelite type, any sparkie would condemn it before starting any work :)

The term "unalived" now being used by the yanks to describe someone who has been shot/killed. Ridiculous, just ridiculous.

    Old tech outlast new?

I don't get on with varifocals at all so I've got two sets of specs. Wanted to get some cheap readers to scatter around the house, receptionist at my independent opticians said I wouldn't be able to get them in the strength I needed, +4.5. Went to Boots and picked up two pairs of +3.5, still too...

The Car Thread (motorbikes reluctantly allowed!)

I was considering going EV for my next car. Only issue is a £2k+ upfront investment to get my consumer unit updated and run a cable to my garage, which is at the bottom of my garden

Hannah Fry has a new series of documentaries on BBC, "AI Confidential". Watched two so far, the second one is all about driverless cars.

    What are you watching?

I watched it when it was first released, thoroughly enjoyed it. It was good to see some of the old cast brought back. The Expanse was good too, (Amazon series). The lead British female actress I didn't find that good, over acted the part, but on the whole thoroughly enjoyed it.

My 22 year old Bora TDI is starting to show it's age too. Electrical gremlins for the past five years, (door locks mainly), headlining has dropped, car creaks a bit now too. Mechanically it's great with nearly 200k miles on the odo, but the dreaded tin-worm has started to show its face. Not sure...

    Headphone newbie seeking recommendations

I think you'll find the 600's won't have the same bass as the 650's, but both are superbly comfy for extended listening. As for speaker comparison. It's kinda apples vs oranges, it's just different, more up close and personal with hp's. I've got the Senn 650 and 800S, the 800's are remarkably...
